Types of tooth enamel whitening

All whitening treatments work on approximately the same principle: the active hydrogen peroxide in the gel or paste penetrates into the pores of the enamel and washes out the ingrained pigments from coffee, cigarettes, and other “coloured” foods. Such chemical teeth whitening is considered the most effective and safest today. It can be done both at home and in the dentist’s office.

Home whitening

Process: according to the prescribed scheme (day or night whitening) you need to fill the mouthpiece with gel and put it on for 15-30 minutes during the day or leave it overnight. You will need to perform the procedure every day for 5-7 days.

Result: changes in enamel shade by 2-5 tones

How does teeth whitening and bleaching work?

  • To protect the mucosa from the active gel, a special retractor is placed in the mouth
  • After the teeth and gums are thoroughly dried, a protective light-activating gel is applied to the latter
  • Using a syringe, the whitening agent is applied to all surfaces of the teeth and left on for 10-20 minutes
  • The gel is removed with a dental "vacuum cleaner" (then the procedure can be repeated 2-3 times until the effect is achieved)
