Hygiene and prevention
Professional oral hygiene
Dental hygiene is one of the best ways to prevent all kinds of dental diseases. This includes both cavities and gum disease. That is why we recommend that our patients have a consultation with a periodontal dentist. The doctor will not only examine your teeth and determine the best preventive plan, but will also perform a professional dental cleaning to remove plaque, tartar, and pigmentation.
Ultrasonic dental cleaning
This procedure involves a comprehensive hygiene treatment using professional cleaners and ultrasound to remove dental plaque. It is usually performed before therapeutic, orthodontic or surgical treatment. In this case, ultrasonic dental cleaning allows:
- To diagnose tooth decay at an early stage
- To improve the condition of the gums and reduce their bleeding
- To choose the optimal color of the filling material after a professional hygiene
Stages of professional oral hygiene
- Removal of tartar and soft plaque using Air-Flow technology and an ultrasonic nozzle
- Polishing teeth after oral cleaning with a special remineralizing paste
- Consultation and selection of home oral care products (choice of toothpaste, brushes, irrigator)

Recommendations
It is recommended that you have your teeth professionally cleaned by your dentist prior to treatment. This allows the dentist to detect early decay, see damage to the enamel, and match fillings or veneers to the color.
Best schedule to visit with a hygienist is 1-2 times a year. In case of a patient wearing braces, the visit has to be increased to at least very 2-3 months. And if a patient has implants – once every 3-4 months.
