Dentures types
Dental treatment and prosthetics are always individual for each patient. And our doctors, with their many years of experience and the most up-to-date equipment, offer you the best possible solutions to maintain your chewing function and restore the aesthetics of your smile.
Depending on the condition of the damaged tooth (or if one or more units are missing), our dentists can offer both removable silicone dentures and fixed dentures without implants or on implants. Also restoration of the tooth is possible with inlays, crowns or veneers – what suits you, the doctor determines at the consultation. What kinds of dentures are there?
Dentures are necessary if you have
- There is a significant chipping of enamel, tooth walls or fillings
- The tooth has a crack or cracked completely
- The crown part of the tooth is completely destroyed
- Severe abrasion is diagnosed (especially in the smile area)
Preparing for dentures
Dental prosthetics involve not only the placement of additional structures in the jaw, but also the mandatory preparation of the oral cavity for the upcoming work. This is to ensure that the denture fits you perfectly in shape, colour and will last as long as possible. So what does preparation for dentures include?
- Computed tomography or X-ray. Without a scan of the jaw, no prosthodontist can do their job. This is the only way for the doctor to see hidden inflammation, the condition of the bone tissue and the dental roots he will have to work with.
- Sanitation of the oral cavity. This stage includes professional hygiene, treatment of caries, and removal of failed dental units.
- Orthodontic treatment. In some cases, the placement of implants and veneers is not possible without correcting the bite and the position of the teeth.
The cost of dentures in our clinic
Prices for dentures depend on a number of factors, so the final estimate for treatment and installation of dentures is always calculated for each patient separately. The doctor takes into account the complexity of the preparation stage as well as the amount of work to be done:
- The complexity of the clinical case and the number of dentures
- Prosthetic materials
- The chosen method of prosthetics (will it be a full removable denture, fixed dentures or implants according to the protocols)

Guarantees
Health care services in Estonia are provided in accordance with the Debt Law Act (Võlaõigusseadus), Part 41. This Act does not define the term “guarantee” in the provision of health care services. According to the Debt Law Act, a person providing medical services cannot promise a patient’s recovery or the success of a procedure, we can talk about prognosis. A medical prognosis is a foresight of the probable development and outcome of a disease, based on knowledge of the patterns of pathological processes and the course of the disease.
At the same time, the warranty covers certain products that are used or manufactured during the provision of dental services. These products belong, according to the law, to medical devices that are regulated by the Medical Devices Act (Meditsiiniseadmete seadus).
Medical devices placed in the patient’s mouth include:
- Dentures made in a dental laboratory
- Implants used to replace missing teeth
- Removable and fixed appliances used to correct bites (e.g., braces)
It is the responsibility of the manufacturer (dental laboratory, manufacturing plant, etc.) to ensure that medical devices (dentures, implants, and orthodontic appliances) are properly made in the patient’s mouth.
1 year
Fixed dentures (crowns, bridges, laminates, inlays)
Temporary fixed dentures are not covered by the warranty
6 months
Removable prostheses (partial and total) as well as removable orthodontic appliances
Warranty does not apply to vacuum-pressed products (whitening mouth guards, Essix retainers, temporary pressed dentures, night guards, etc.)
2 years
Implants
Since the warranty covers only the technical performance of the products, the warranty is not valid in the following cases:
- The patient did not adhere to the schedule of regular check-ups set by the doctor (usually twice a year, every 6 months)
- The denture or orthodontic appliance was adjusted or repaired by a doctor at another medical facility, unless this was agreed upon in advance with the doctor who installed the denture or orthodontic appliance
- The situation in the oral cavity has changed, resulting in damage to the denture, implant, or orthodontic appliance
- The defect was caused by external factors (trauma, etc.)
- The patient did not wear a removable prosthesis or removable orthodontic appliance
- Ceramic restorations on the upper and lower jaw are in contact with each other and the patient did not use a protective mouth guard to prevent ceramic chipping
Frequently Asked Questions
It all depends on the degree of bone atrophy. The doctor, after a comprehensive evaluation of the condition of the jaw and the situation of the individual patient, determines the best treatment option. If the degree of atrophy is high, bone augmentation or sinus lift is performed. This procedure requires additional costs for the patient.
The survival rate of the implants we use is 96-99.6%. There is a chance that the implant will not take root and will be removed, but it is usually minimal. The main reason for this is non-compliance with the implantologist’s recommendations. The second reason is serious chronic diseases that you will definitely be asked about at the consultation.
An implant procedure using a surgical template takes no more than 30-60 minutes. Most of the time is spent on preparation and the procedure itself takes no more than 5-10 minutes. The surgical guide allows the procedure to be performed without gum incisions or additional tools for positioning the implants. The patient is fitted with a prefabricated individual surgical template and the implant is inserted through a special hole in the gum using a puncture.
The implantation procedure is completely painless. It is performed under local anesthesia. This is enough to make the patient feel no pain. For patients who do not tolerate the injection in the gum, we use an anesthetic gel application. This gel is used in pediatric dentistry. When the anesthesia runs out, patients may experience soreness at the site of the gingival puncture. In this case, we recommend taking a tablet of a painkiller.
This method of prosthetics is called implant prosthetics or All-on-4 or All-on-6, depending on the number of implants. The implants are used to attach an individual fixed dental prosthesis. This is a modern method of prosthetics, which is available in our clinic. We can offer different prosthetic packages with implants, depending on your budget. Make an appointment for a consultation and we will tell you about them in detail.
Our clinic has a contract with the Health Insurance Fund. The cost of the dental implant service can be partially reimbursed by insurance. For pensioners this amount is 260 euros, for pregnant women and women with children up to one year old it is 85 euros. For all other categories of insured – 40 euros per year. You can read more about the amount of compensation on the website of the Health Insurance Fund
You only need your consent to pay the treatment in installments. You can pay in installments for up to 4 years and in installments. You can do this in our clinic.
Yes. Absolutely! We guarantee all patients who fill in the consultation form during the promotional period that the cost of treatment will not change, even if the consultation time is set after the end of the special offer. Also, the patient is entitled to a free CT scan and 3D scan during the consultation. If the patient does not conclude a treatment contract by choosing one of the three packages, it is not possible to get the results of the CT scan “in hand” for free. It costs 73 euros to get the results for free.
